Job Summary

Mzumbe University is seeking a qualified Launderer II to oversee the collection, laundering, ironing, distribution, and maintenance of linens, hospital clothing, and bedding materials for the university’s health facility/hospital units.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Collection & Distribution: Collect soiled hospital bed sheets, bed nets, and clothing items from wards and distribute clean linens to all departments.

• Laundering & Finishing: Wash, launder, and iron hospital clothing items, bed sheets, and nets according to sanitation guidelines.

• Equipment & Facility Care: Maintain laundry equipment in clean and safe operational condition; keep the laundry work environment clean and hazardous-free.

• Inspection & Reporting: Inspect linens regularly and report any worn-out, torn, or damaged laundry items, bed sheets, and nets to supervisors.

• Additional Duties: Perform any other operational tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Holder of a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (Form IV / CSEE).

• Professional Qualification: Certificate in Hospitality Management or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
